Dr. Andras Nagy, PHD – Senior Polymer Chemist

Dr. Andras Nagy is an internationally recognized polymer chemist and industry veteran with more than 30 years of experience in car wash chemistry, surface modification, and advanced cleaning technologies. His career has been dedicated to the development of polymer-based solutions that enhance cleaning performance, surface protection, drying efficiency, and shine across automotive and industrial applications.

Dr. Nagy holds multiple advanced degrees in chemical and polymer science, including a Ph.D. in Polymer Chemistry and a Ph.D. in Macromolecular Science. He also has a Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering, which emphasizes the close relationship between scientific principles and practical applications. His work focuses on developing environmentally friendly, readily biodegradable solutions that align with sustainability and green chemistry principles. His academic and professional background includes post-doctoral and visiting scientist roles at the University of Akron’s Institute of Polymer Science, one of the world’s leading polymer research institutions.

Professionally, Dr. Nagy has served in senior technical leadership roles across both academia and industry. He spent nearly a decade as Chief Chemist and Vice President of Technical Operations, where he directly influenced the evolution of modern car wash chemistry. He later held senior chemist, group leader, and applied technology manager positions for nearly two decades, leading innovation in surface-active polymers, microemulsions, rinse aids, and biodegradable cleaning systems.

Dr. Nagy is the inventor or co-inventor on numerous U.S. and international patents and has authored widely cited publications focused on hydrophobizing microemulsions, polymer-functionalized surfaces, and advanced detergency mechanisms. His work has played a key role in shaping today’s polymer-driven approach to vehicle care and surface cleaning technologies
